Tumeric means curcuminoids

Turmeric is one of the most well-known spices. Although native to the Indian subcontinent, today it is used worldwide as a supplement, spice, natural food coloring, and even as an ingredient in cosmetics.

Turmeric's popularity is largely due to ancient ayurvedic texts, written nearly 2,500 years ago, describing turmeric's benefits in treating a wide range of conditions, including skin, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, aches, pains, wounds, sprains, liver disease, joint pain and inflammation. All of turmeric's health benefits are attributed to curcuminoids, a constituent group of phytosubstances with a distinctive yellow color. However, it is modern science that has enabled millions of people to reap the health benefits of the unique compounds in turmeric.

In FemiCanna Energy products, we use curcuminoids in the form of Curcumin C3 Complex® derived from the dried rhizomes of Curcuma longa (Turmeric) and standardized to a minimum of 95% curcuminoids.

The name C3 Complex® refers to three main chemical compounds - curcumin, demethoxycurcumin (DMC) and bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) - collectively referred to as "curcuminoids". Curcuminoids have been shown to have multiple actions that are beneficial in improving human health and combating various disease states. Clinical studies have demonstrated the following health-promoting potential of curcuminoids:

  • Antioxidant action

  • Anti-inflammatory effects

  • Supports immunity

  • Regulation of cholesterol and blood sugar levels

  • Prevention of blockages

  • Liver protection

  • Prevent the development of Alzheimer's disease
